Today I decided upon two things: exercise is more enjoyable with a well behaved dog and I appreciate personal snail mail letters...
I went out for a little run today with Jake, this dog that belongs to one of the instructors here at work. He is a super well behaved dog that never needs to be on a leash and knows and obeys most all commands that a dog can know. So he and I ran around. I wasn't sure where I was going, but I knew I didn't want to be on the main road so I soon darted off of it onto a nice rednecky looking neighborhood street. This road soon turned off to another such road and off of that a nice park. This dog was so good that when I saw him making a b-line to the creek I said, "Don't get in the water, Jake," and sure enough he swung away and back around to me. I chased him around the park some till some kids came along to throw sticks for him and then we went back.
After that I was in Target getting a drill for the studio and I began looking around at things for me. A bunch of people in DC told me to write them (they aren't the most computer inclined mind you so they gave me their addresses). So I picked out a couple cards and a set of blank cards to write to people. I recently got such a card from my grandmother and I was so excited when I saw John pull it out of the mailbox. Email is great and fast and everything, but there's nothing quite like getting a good letter in the mail from a buddy and reading in his/her own hand what's going on.
