Pro

John and I went and watched Pro last night at the Flatirons Theatre. It was an event to support the Family Learning Center, so it was more than just watching the movie; there were lots of little talks. Andy Hampsten was there and gave a little, kinda strange talk about cycling and school. His point was to stay in school and get a degree, but he kept veering off this subject by saying stuff like, "well I didn't finish up but..." But he seemed like a nice guy, a nice skinny little guy. There were other dudes there too to help with the raffle, a dude who raced back in the 80's that I don't know (but John probably does), Chris Wheery, Travis Brown, and some others that I can't think of now.

The movie itself was very entertaining I thought. Some of the interviews were funny. One guy, Erik Saunders, had the strangest comments on cycling. He was going on and on about this metaphor for cycling, closing other people's doors. At first it was pretty good, but then it just got out of hand and made no sense at all. All his interviews seemed like that. Julich was funny talking about all the gear you get as National Champion and how fun it would be to wear it all. It was an fun movie. The film maker was there dressed in his long black leather coat. The music in the movie was great, a great pumper upper. Overall it was an enjoyable evening.
