Pets and Their Games

We have a cat named Marty and this cat makes up the most fantastic pet games I have ever witnessed as a pet owner. There, for a while, his favorite game was to have us throw a mouse up at him while he was on the stairs. He would catch the mouse then roll all the way down the stairs and leave the mouse at our feet as he raced back up for round two. Another game he loved, but isn't doing much nowadays, is playing fetch with his mice. This cat is just like a dog; we'll throw it out for him, him sometimes catching the toy like a well practiced wide receiver, and trot on back to us with the toy in his mouth. He'll even drop it in front of us for the next throw.

Marty's new favorite game is with our pile of shoes near the front door. He'll take one of his mice up to that pile and strategically drop it into one of my leather dansko shoes, always these shoes. He'll then proceed for the next several minutes to entertain himself rolling around the shoe pile, diving into shoes as best he can, digging the mouse out of the shoe and again placing in back into the danskos for more shoe fun. Pets are hilarious and creative... and entertaining to observe when you've got a minute or two.
