Fireworks on My Car

Had a fun 4th. We went up to Frisco to hang out with Lisa and Brett. John left Monday morning via bicyclette, but I had to go to work. Blah, but they let us leave early. So I got to leave at 2:30 and I get a couple hours to cash in and leave early some other time. Sounds good to me. After work I headed out to Frisco, driving of course. Stopped up at Central City to pick up John who was cold and wet from the weird monsoon rain we've been having lately, not too Colorado.

Monday night we all hung out at Brett and Lisa's and watched what was probably the fifth showing of the day's stage in the tour, then called it a night. Yesterday, (dang was that yesterday it feels like it was two weekends ago) everyone went out for a mtn bike ride and I went outlet shopping. After wrestling with the crowds for a while I gave up. Then we started to fest. Lisa and I got a shit ton of food, made mojitos, and we all grilled out and ate too much. It was a good time.

John and I had planned to stay for fireworks, but the damn things weren't going to go off til something like 9:45 and we weren't really in the mood to get back home to Boulder after midnight. When everyone else was packin up to go to fireworks we headed on down to the front range, but we certainly didn't miss the show. Passing by Georgetown the fireworks were right in front of us as we drove down to the town. Then in Idaho Springs it was as if the fireworks were actually being shot over I-70. I drove right under them and I bet those bad boys rained colored sparkles onto the top of my car. Even when we got into Golden, when firework time should've been completely over, a couple lite up the sky. Good times.
