Snowed in Day 1

Wow this was a storm! I got up around 8am or so and looked outside to about 3-4 FEET of snow and deeper in drift areas, which were a lot. I decided I really needed a camera, so I put on all my snow apparel and marched into town (I've taken a bunch of pictures and will post them here when I get the roll developed).

First I had to wade through the snow out of my house to the street. Of course the front door was snowed shut so I had to wade from the backdoor. I walked in the middle of the road to a 7-11 on Main and bought a disposable camera. Big farmer like dudes were there comparing who had the most snow on their unreasonably huge, jacked up trucks.

I walked back home, pulled out the snow shovel and started digging. I dug out a path from the back door to the road, from the front door to the road and as I was working on the front door path I noticed all my other neighbors had come out. Everyone was out shoveling themselves out as well. This is the first time I had seen all my neighbors out all out once. Several people who live up the block skied by as I was working.

I then helped out a neighbor and shoveled part of her sidewalk. She's an old woman and would probably break in half if she attempted anything more physical than walking.

I took a break after that, ate my pb&j, then went back to work, this time digging my car out. So now my work is complete. The car's free, the sidewalk is clear, and I can get around without wading through snow. And of course I've already eaten everything in my house so I was wondering what I was going to do for food. No one is open... except Dominos. They even delivered, so I'm perfectly satisfied... but dead tired.

Will be getting to bed early tonight.
