The Tour is starting tomorrow. How do I feel about that? Well I'm not as interested and excited about it as I've been in past Tours that's for sure. I don't feel like there is the big hype that there used to be in the couple months before the tour. When Lancer was around there was all this talk and lead up to the tour, TV shows, tons of interviews, lots of coverage on the big contenders, all that sort of thing to get everyone all pumped and ready for the race. Maybe I just haven't been paying as much attention, but this year and last it seems like there's just been a lot of doping talk and scandals right before the tour and not a lot of positive build up of how great the race will be.
Oh well. I'll still follow it anyway. So who will win? Oh, who knows. Valverde or Vino I suppose. Maybe Frank Schleck will pull it off, that could be interesting. I'm pretty sure that won't happen, but it would be interesting. But then there's (what's now become) the grand tour aftermath where all the testing discrepancies come out and ruin everything. Hopefully that won't happen this time but considering the Giro had a bit of this it you never know.
So looks like I'm going into the Tour with a bit of qualified enthusiasm. That or I'm just cranky today because I don't want to be at work, but I suppose that has nothing to do with the Tour really. Ha.
