Update, Tony McNaboe, and Ray LaMontagne

It's been awhile since my last post, so here's a quick recap of the past month and some... new job is good and keepin me busy, went to laramie wyoming to cheer on john as he road up a mountain in the Dead Dog Classic stage race, flew through a couple entertaining books, got the part in my hair bizarrely burnt whilst cheering and reading my way through the Firecracker 50 on 4th of July, melted in the searing hotness of July so far....

And now let's slow it down for a bit...

This past weekend, which included Monday night, was the weekend of Mainers and music. Juan's friend, from his days in Maine as a young man, came into town Friday. Ol' Tony McNaboe was passing through Colorado playing drums for the amazing Ray LaMontagne who had a show in Boulder and one in Denver. I also met Sam and Ryan, also Mainers and friends of the Tony, who live in Boulder. All three (Sam, Ryan, and Tony) were super fun people who I am so happy to have met.

Sam, Ryan, Juan, and I went to both of Ray LaMontagne's shows. The Boulder show was a bit strange; it was more of an interview radio show than a music show, but it was entertaining. Monday's show at the Filmore was awesome. I really enjoyed it. It was hot as sin in that building, but the show was worth it. The funny thing about this whole weekend was the first thoughtful feeling I had when I woke up Tuesday morning, after the usual groggy "what the hell time is it" feeling. I woke up and had that weird feeling you get when you arrive back home after an awesome vacation someplace and realize that the trip is really over. It 's kinda sad (but not at all) and misty (not sure what kind of emotion that would be but to me the word seems to fit for some reason). Isn't that bizarre!!

Anyway... it was a great weekend and I'm glad I had it.

There are new pictures of all this stuff in the "pictures of us" link to the left.
